People have been coming to the same conclusions and finding common ground using different paths since the beginning of time. But being able to share these conclusions, paths, and common grounds with speed and across long distances is new and powerful. I keep using the word "powerful" because it's almost like a miracle the way I've met and shared with people and had people share with me that in million years would never have cross my path if not for twitter. Sure I cultivated these relationships but I had no idea these people existed until I saw tweets from them.
The power of this new connected sharing world is unseen to a lot of people. Maybe that's because a lot of people don't use the power. They get on social media for whatever reason, accumulate friends or associates and never realize the plethora of knowledge & experience right @ their fingertips. A lot could careless and I understand that, but for the people on a non stop mission to better themselves this is a huge breakthrough.
Trading is one of those professions were learning new things and refresher courses are need often. Things change slow and fast @ the same time in the markets. There's a gazillion moving parts and any number of different combinations of moves can produce any number of different outcomes. This either keeps you on your toes or overwhelms you. For me twitter lists cut through the noise.
Twitter is a sentiment gauge in and of itself, but when you add filters it's powers are improved greatly. Use this power traders, and don't be afraid to follow and connect with people who don't agree with you. I learn the most from people whom at first I thought I had nothing in common. You would be surprised how much you have in common with people you think you have nothing in common..
If you haven't gotten a chance to follow a good group of traders on twitter I may be able to help. As stated above, lists are great, so here's my lists of traders. Twitter only lets you add 500 people to each list so I have 2 full lists and one I just started. EVERYbody on these lists are great in their own way.
All of them are trading related in all different asset classes, trading levels, experience levels, and account sizes.
Your guaranteed to benefit from following these traders because they are the best Twitter has to offer. I have, I still do, and I plan to continue to learn valuable things from these people and I hope you can to!
First is the first twitter list I ever made, and maybe the best: Investors/traders
Next is is probably just as good as the first, but I'm probably biased. It has have more economist and Financial news reporters on it than the first list:
Econ
And last but not least, wait, it does have the least people on it, but I add people nearly everyday so, yeah, it'll be full in no time:
More Traders
Hopefully you can benefit from these and gain social media trading powers like me.. Feels like I have 1500 brains sometimes! We're all in this together traders, although some don't act like it. But this way other traders can help you without even trying. I recommend you not only follow the lists themselves but actually follow people of the list. It's worth every click of the follow button!
Good luck traders, and Happy Hunting!
