The richest according to Forbes is Mexico's Carlos Slim with a $69 billion net worth. That's a lot of money right? Yes, for fiat money in a fiat money time this is a lot. But relative to the richest people in the world from the time before the Fiat system we live in now.... Not so much.
He would wipe his ass with Carlos Slim. Carlos Slim would have a net worth of a little over 40 million in sound money. Rockefeller gave away what would amount to 100 billion dollars in today's money. Which means he gave away more than any single person is even near to having right now.
So The rich do get richer but not when you can print money, or in these times just add zero's into a spread sheet. A move back to sound money I believe would set a fire under the entrepreneurs of today. You hear people speak of the gold standard and how it wouldn't work if we tried it today and they're right. But we don't have to use only gold. A basket of commodities would do just fine.
But this is out of the question for the powers that be right now because they profit off this status quo and I get that (how they do it is a subject for another post.) But the next time you hear someone say "The rich get richer" tell them "only when the money is sound." because clearly the people we call rich are not richer than the people we used to call rich.
